This was a bit of a different gig to the normal challenging events, events! It was a conference-style in one of the Ageas Bowl rooms. We were asked to provide sound re-enforcement and video clips of the 6 different talks throughout the day.
With Audio, I put in 2x EV ZLX 12P’s with poles on some ZXA1 Subwoofers to have a clean look at the front with some EV SX80 as delays since it was quite a long room! Mixing all of this I took a Behringer X32 rack and a Behringer X touch with an SD8 for all the inputs and outputs at the front that worked well. And inputs wise I had 3x Sennheiser G3’s I mainly had it set up to have 2 Lav Mics and 1 Handheld, but I had it set up so I could easily just switch off the 2nd Lav mic and have another handheld so it was flexible throughout the day. I also had a spare wired mic at the front just in case.
Recording wise I had 2 cameras, one at the back and one at the front just to the side. I had these cameras feeding into my ATEM mini that was then going into a MacBook so I could record the output in OBS, I was also recording directly onto the SD cards of the cameras just as a backup. The reason for putting the ATEM in was that I could get out the videos within a few minutes of the sessions finishing, this meant that there was hardly any editing required if any the only thing I ended up doing was adding an intro slide at the beginning using some of the photos from the event. With audio for this, I took a feed out of the sound console into OBS and had it all synced up and also took a feed directly from the consoles in-built USB recorder as another backup. This all worked really well.
During the event, I also ended up making sure all the presenters slides appeared on the in-house projector. Whether this helping connects their laptop or using one of my computers and loading their presentation onto it. I also added in some LED bars across the back with the challenging events green to make the room a bit more branded! Here are some photos of the event:
