This was part of the Music In the City Festival project that i have been involved in supplying and operating for the past few years. This year i was involved in producing the event since it was more digital than just managing the technical side. We had over 50-60 bands express there interest in being recorded/ offering to submit a video to display on the live stream. Out of those 60 bands we picked 30 to record over the 2 days and i created a timetable and allocated each band a time slot to setup record and get out in. This was allocated by the number of people in the band.
During the two days of filming i used my ATEM Switcher and Behringer X32 to create a ‘live’ recorded mix of the band so there was hardly any editing after the day. But as a backup i also recorded a multi-track recording of the audio and recorded direct on each camera .
During the two days we moved venues three times two of the venues i could setup before hand so it was quickly to change over, but one of the venues was outside and had limited access. This venue had to be setup in less than an hour that we just about did.
Overall it was a good 2 days of filming.
