This was a gig I was asked if I could do by one of my Boss’ It was a fashion show raising money for someone who needed treatment for cancer. It was in the Next store after it had closed so we had a limited time to set up everything I had my friend henry helps me so he was doing the lighting and I was focusing on the sound, but also making sure we were all on track and helping him raise the lighting T bars.
We had both consoles on the checkout desk since that was a good place for them had speakers (EV ZLX12P and the ZXA1 Subs) either side of that desk facing the people who were watching and then the people who were watching upstairs had two EV speakers there that I had wired in with delays. Also last minute I noticed that there were some people watching from a place that had glass in front so they wouldn’t be able to hear what was going on so I quickly grabbed a spare speaker that was in the van and ran a cable up to this room so they could also take part. I was using a Behringer X32 producer and 2 Sennheiser G3 radio mics, one for the person introducing everything and another for other people doing announcements. Each person walking down the ‘Catwalk’ had their own track that I had planned and got before the event and I had put it in a Qlab file already.
Lighting wise me and henry worked together to work out what would work and what would take little power. We ended up using two tripod stands either side of the catwalk the one on the left had two fresnels into a dimmer pack on and some moving head wash lights and on the other side, there were some moving head wash lights and some RGBA LED pars to provide some colour. This worked well running into a Chamsys PC Wing.
