This was pretty much the same gig as last year. I was again working with James Boyd who got me on the gig this year again and Billy Jamerson who was directing the cameras.
This year we put in quite a bit of lighting, a truss structure and a star-cloth behind as the backdrop. We got all the lighting stock from a company I work with called ‘livewire theatre’ and fixed one of there LED bars by putting a new power supply in it. Also to get a good floodlight the studio that we were in had a ton of LED softboxes that didn’t have any DMX control but they were powered via 240V so we got a dimmer pack plugged in all the dimmer and also put a load lamp on the same circuit too, then in Chamsys, I changed the patch so I could only either set that channel at either 0 or 255 and set it to the correct dimmer curve. this worked really well and meant I had control of those lights.
Audio Wise I had my X32 rack and X touch with an SD16 in the studio with 4 Sennheiser G3’s on the 4 contestants and another G3 on the presenter as-well-as a wireless IEM for the presenter for us to be able to talk to him.
Video wise we had a few cameras in the studio and a wide GoPro. we also used some dell monitors on tank traps with scaffold to display the 2 different teams scores.
